Bern: The Capital

So. I ended up going quite a few places this past week! I'll upload the photos from our program's trip to Bern today and keep putting the rest from this weekend up later this week.

Last Wednesday I went to the capital of Switzerland, Bern, with the study abroad program, to see the city and attend lectures by guest speakers. From there I went with some friends to Interlocken for the afternoon on Friday, and then took a train to Vienna for the weekend. More pictures to come!

Zurich

Went to Zurich this weekend! The city was amazing. The weather was great while we were there and there were tons of people out and about. Here are some pics from our first night in the city and out walking tour around the Old Town.

Today was so beautiful! We got out of class very early today and decided to go explore the Old Town and climb to the top of the cathedral there to see the view. It was amazing! Then afterward we found a cute little cafe for some warm drinks :) Here are some pictures from walking around & the cathedral.

Mies: The Swiss Countryside

Here are some pictures from walking around the tiny town I am staying in. I did not take these today...for the past two days the weather here has been grey and cold. Our French teacher tells us this unfavorable weather is called 'le stratus'--the overcast skies that hang over Geneva, kept here because of the mountains and lake. I can't wait until it gets clear again so I can see the mountains :)

 

Montroux: The Swiss Riviera

Yesterday I had my first excursion in Switzerland! After waking up nice and early we headed to the town of Montroux, about an hour from where I live. On the way we stopped in the small town of Vevey, where we bought some food for a picnic at the outdoor market, walked around the lake, and checked out the Nestle's World HQ. Then we continued to Montroux, where we spent the day walking along the lake to the castle there, exploring the castle, and picnicking. Here are some photos from our day :)
